Subscription Audit: Find the Recurring Charges Hiding in Plain Sight

Subscriptions are convenient because they disappear into the background. That is exactly why they need a regular audit.
The 30-Minute Audit
Open the last 90 days of card and bank transactions. Search for repeat merchant names, app stores, streaming services, cloud storage, memberships, delivery passes, and trial conversions.
Use a Simple Rule
If you used it in the last 30 days and it replaces a more expensive habit, keep it. If you forgot it existed, cancel it. If you might use it later, pause it instead of letting the bill continue.
Watch Annual Renewals
Annual plans often feel cheaper, but they can surprise your cash flow. Add renewal dates to your calendar and create a small sinking fund if the service is worth keeping.
Recurring costs deserve visibility
Small monthly charges can quietly become a major category. Review them like any other bill.
